Orange!

Fall has come and with that comes changing leaves, changing weather, and changing classrooms.

Our Kids Club classroom tree is changing too!

Here, at STA, we are celebrating October as ORANGE MONTH! The first 3 weeks of the month come with a fall theme. Pine cones, crunchy leaves, scarecrows, harvest vegetables, and, of course, orange.

This is our fall sensory play table!
(the kids keep rescuing ladybugs and returning them to the backyard garden)

To really drive home the concept of our favourite fall colour we have made our classrooms as orange as possible. The kiddos here will get to experience a multi-sensory approach to the colour as they play and learn.

You can start by reading your favorite fall themed book in our reading corner...

Create some fall leaves or build your own scare-crow at our orange art table...

Have a sensory play break by digging into orange lentils...

And finish it off by rolling, cutting, squishing, and molding our homemade, glittery, orange play-doh!

You can make your own orange play-doh at home!
1 cup white flour
1/2 cup salt
2 tablespoon cream of tartar (find it in the spice section)
1 tablespoon oil
1 cup water
food coloring
Just mix all the ingredients in a pan over medium heat, stir constantly.
When they form a firm ball you're done!
Just cool and play!
